What should I expect?

    • Kindness, patience and gentle grooming care. Some of these experiences may be familiar to you or you may be experiencing this for the first time. Either way, my goal is to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible the entire time.
    • For full service packages, you will be brushed so you can expect some gentle tugging. I will also be using some tools to help with styling.
    • We will be washing and drying you – I know this is not going to be your favourite part, so I will try to make it as easy and stress free as possible by adding in some massage techniques.
    • At the end of the service you will walk away with a complimentary accessory and a bounce in your step. Thank you for trusting me to offer you the service you deserve.

What if I get scared?

    • That’s normal. Your parents will let me know if there is anything specific that scares you the most (noise, movements, other pets, people, etc…) and I will target relaxation massage techniques around those areas.
    • I’ll also keep a careful watch on you to see if you are showing signs of being scared so I can tailor the service to support you throughout.

Will it hurt?

    • My goal is to ensure that this service doesn’t hurt you. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be scared or that you won’t have an unexpected reaction to one of the tools or procedures. So just know that I am here for you.
    • There are a couple of areas that these kind of challenges present themselves.
    • I will be trimming your nails – from time to time the quick can be longer than expected. I will do my best to ensure I don’t trim too close. Unexpected movements will be minimized but if something is to happen, I can stop the bleeding quickly and help you feel safe.
    • If you have severe mats, we will choose a grooming procedure that is safe and helps you to look your best. Sometimes there is gentle tugging that feels uncomfortable but we’ll do our best to ensure you feel safe. Sometimes if there are many severe mats I’ll need to discuss options with your parent, which might include shaving.

What if I have to go potty?

    • No problem. We’ll be sure to provide potty breaks as needed. If you’re a dog, I will have a collar and a leash on to take you outside. If you’re a cat, I’ll have a clean little box that you can use.
